Xpeng has officially launched the G7, a new all-electric mid-size SUV, in China.

The G7 marks several technological milestones for the brand, including an AR-HUD system developed in collaboration with Huawei and a fully vision-based driver assistance system powered by Xpeng’s proprietary Turing AI chips.

The G7 features Xpeng’s second-generation “X Face” design, with a full-width daytime running light bar, split headlamps integrated into air ducts, and an active front grille. It sports frameless doors with soft-close, flush handles, and offers 18- or 20-inch wheels. The rear showcases a full-width tail lamp that blends with the fenders and hatch, including driver-assist indicators.

Inside, it adopts a minimalist design, replacing the traditional instrument cluster with a 15.6-inch floating central display that combines driving information and infotainment.

The cabin blends luxury and tech with ventilated, heated, and massaging Nappa leather seats. It includes dual 50W wireless chargers, a panoramic sunroof, 20-speaker surround sound, customizable ambient lighting, a digital rear-view mirror, a secure glovebox, and an 8-inch rear control screen. The second row adds a cooled wireless charger and a foldable magnetic table.

Measuring 4,892 mm in length, 1,925 mm in width, and 1,655 mm in height, the G7 has a 2,890 mm wheelbase. The G7 is offered in Max and Ultra trims, built on a rear-wheel-drive platform. It provides two battery capacities: 68.5 kWh and 80.8 kWh.

With the larger battery paired to 18-inch wheels, the vehicle achieves a CLTC-rated range of up to 702 km. A 218 kW rear electric motor powers the SUV, and depending on the battery and wheel size, the range varies: 602 km or 702 km on 18-inch wheels, and 577 km or 677 km on 20-inch wheels.

The Ultra trim is equipped with three Turing AI chips that enable advanced driver assistance features such as city NGP, highway NGP, and sophisticated parking aids.

In China’s competitive mid-size electric SUV market, the Xpeng G7 aims to rival popular models like the Tesla Model Y and Zeekr 007.
